Your Heart's Eye
Coaching and Energetic Practices to Build Self-Belief and Experience Fulfillment and Delight
Hi! I'm Melissa. I offer somatic coaching, reiki, and intuitive practices to help you find your self-belief and experience fulfillment and delight by living life on your terms.
For many years I felt like the side-kick in my own life. It was through incorporating body-oriented (somatic) and energetic practices that I tapped into unconditional love of self to live as the heroine of my story, no matter my circumstances.
As an MSW and former social worker, my approach takes into account how the brain processes information to address nervous system regulation. This facilitates discovery of - and trust in - your inner-knowing. The "heart's eye."
From your heart's eye, you gain a clear sense of who you are in the world, the unconditional love that holds you, and how to stay on a path that is true to you. When you trust your inner guidance and tap into the abundance of love that exists for you, feelings of guilt, people-pleasing, shame, woulda/coulda/shoulda fade.
Through our Work Together,
You Will:
-
Feel more alive
-
Live on your terms
-
Feel more satisfied in your relationships
-
Gain comfort with standing in your power
-
Flow with the wisdom of your body
-
Re-orient to pleasure and delight
-
Restore energetic balance
-
Have more self-love, self-compassion (and therefore more compassion and grace for others)
-
Raise the vibration of the collective to overcome fear, hate, division
-
Heal yourself so others (ancestors, community, future generations) may heal
Why do this Work?
Because you deserve it. My offerings are designed to help you connect with your inner guidance, safety, and love. To support you to live in harmony with your internal compass. In harmony with your heart's eye. Once you trust your heat's eye, you are freed from limiting beliefs and anxieties that hold you back. You will also find yourself catastrophising less, over both personal situations and collective events. Free yourself from doom scrolling!

But if that's not reason enough, this is important work for our communities. Polarization and division in society come from people over-identifying with narrow identities. The identification with those identities is a comfort blanket that creates community with others who are like-minded. There is nothing wrong with that. But it also means contacting people who have different views can place your self-worth on the line, creating fear and causing a defensive reaction. The defensive reaction leads to misunderstanding, inability to compromise or see areas of commonality, and demonization and hate.

If more people in the global community accessed the love and knowing within, I believe our society would heal. Yes, disagreements will remain, but people will not attach their worth to their beliefs or externally-constructed identities. People will not feel under threat from those who may have different views or identities. We can greet neighbors with love, not fear, and agree to disagree, respectfully and peacefully. Compromise can be reached--a prerequisite for functioning democracy--and caring for others does not seem like a zero-sum threat to one's own resources, safety, or well-being.

We each deserve to heal. To live according to our inner compass. Our communities need us to.
Lessons on Life and Love from Toasty
Toasty is a loving pup and a masterful teacher (as all dogs are). As a children's social worker I feel compelled to offer a corner on the internet that shares what we might observe from Toasty's experiences.
Toasty offers her love freely and, as a result, never ceases to bring out the best in others. Her love is (almost always) met with love, and love met with love grows exponentially. When she isn't met with love, she brushes it off and finds somewhere more worthwhile to sniff. She never doubts herself, her worthiness of being loved, or her capacity to love--nor should she! (Nor should we!)
Toasty was brought to a kill shelter after being found stray by animal control in the US state of South Carolina. She was discovered by an animal rescue and flown to a foster home in Washington, DC until her forever family could find her. Turns out her forever family was her foster mom (you guessed who: me). Alongside her lessons on love, Toasty teaches us that the past is not the future and the best is yet to come!
Her message is that you are loved, you will find your people, your forever home doesn't have to have been your always-home, and trauma does not limit your capacity for happiness, joy, and love.

She's also traveled from the US to the UK, and around the EU. Her section of the site includes tips on traveling internationally with a non-Emotional Support Animal, as information from blogs were invaluable in navigating travel.
